Asif Akbar, Priyanka Gope render duet song for first time

Popular musician Asif Akbar has rendered duet songs with many noted, established and newcomer artistes in his music career.

It can be said that starting from Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, he has also rendered songs with this generation’s Kona, Konal, Oishee, among
others.

But Asif never got the scope to render song with Associate Professor of Department of Music of University of Dhaka and National Film Award
winner noted singer Dr Priyanka Gope.

Asif Akbar and Priyanka Gope sung together for the first time in a song titled ‘Jokhon Akash Kande’ written by Bakiul Alam.

This song was originally composed by Asif’s favourite music director Monowar Hossain Tutul.

Shovon Roy has composed its music.

Asif said Priyanka did not meet him during the recording of the song.

But the two finally met during the shooting of Yamin Allen’s music video for the song.

While talking about Priyanka Gope, singer Asif Akbar told this correspondent, “Priyanka Gope is an outstanding artiste, down to earth as a human being. After entering her profile on Wikipedia, I have a lot of respect for her.

Even with such a high profile career, she is a man of the soil, the wealth of Bangladesh. Even in the same city, it was never seen that the ball did not match.

Talking to Priyanka Gope, I feel like she is very close to me, as if we have known each other for a long time.

She is teaching at Dhaka University, and continues to balance music and family. She is now my best choice for a slightly heavy modern melody song.

Hope to work together more.

I hope we can build a good pair in the music.

Asif informed that the song will be released soon on his official YouTube channel, which has already been released on Swadhin app.

Priyanka Gope told this correspondent, “Asif Bhai is the superstar of Bengali music.

But he is so innocent, so humble and frank; I like the person Asif Akbar once.

And the artiste Asif Akbar is once the crush of our time.

It goes without saying.

Anyway, after a lot of preparation, we both rendered a song.

Tutul Bhai composed the wonderful music of the song.

He tried to break Asif Bhai in this song.

In my case, the song is my own favourite and the audience likes the idea that this is in my mind.

I like this song very much.

And singing with Asif Bhai and talking about it is so good that I want to sing more songs with him.”
