A traffic police sergeant named Mostafizur Rahman has been booked for not providing proper ownership documents after selling a CNG auto-rickshaw.
Abdullah Al Mamun, a businessman from Chandgaon area of the Port City, filed the case in Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam’s court on Sunday. Accused Mostafizur Rahman is working in South Division of City Traffic Police.
According to the complaint in the case, Mustafizur Rahman contacted the accused traffic police sergeant after seeing an advertisement for the sale of a CNG auto-rickshaw on sale.com.
On May 1, the police sergeant came to the shop in Chandgaon Arakan Road area of the city and took the car for Tk630,000 in cash. But CNG auto rickshaws were sold and proper ownership documents were not given.
The accused, being a traffic sergeant, assured that he would make everything right.
Advocate Erfanul Haque, the plaintiff’s lawyer, said that a case was filed against a traffic police sergeant named Mostafizur Rahman for selling CNG auto-rickshaws and not providing proper ownership documents.
After the hearing, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the case.
