Actress Shimana in silver screen after 16 years

Sixteen years ago, Rista Laboni Shimana won the hearts of the audience by playing an important role in the movie ‘Daruchini Dwip’ directed by Tauquir Ahmed.

After that, she acted in numerous dramas, but she was never seen in movies. After a break of 16 years, Shimana is acting in a movie titled ‘Roshni’.

Biplob Haider is giving direction of the movie.In the meantime, Shimana has participated in the shooting of the movie in Abdullahpur area of the capital.

Regarding acting in movie after a long time, Shimana told this correspondent, “When the movie ‘Daruchini Dwip’ was released, I actually worked in a movie for the first time out of the Lux-Channel i competition.

The name Tauquir Ahmed was a dream to me. It was unbelievable to me that I would work in this movie under his direction.

We had a very nice time. After 16 long years, when I came to work in the cinema, I kept remembering the days of the first cinema. Everyone will see me as a journalist in the new movie.

I tried to do my character with enough sincerity.

The whole unit including the director is helping me a lot. Hope the movie will be well made and will be presented to the audience in time.”

Shimana was a contestant in the Top 10 of ‘Lux-Channel i Superstar’ competition in 2006.

Her first acted drama was ‘College Student’ directed by Salahuddin Lovlu. She won the hearts of the audience in the first drama. After that, she acted in many dramas.

Currently, the serial ‘Smritir Alpona’ directed by Murad Parvez starring her is being aired in ATN Bangla.

It is known that Shimana wants to work in the dramas of Salahuddin Lovlu and Akash Ranjan.

She is also scheduled to work in two more dramas under the direction of Syed Awlad, said the actress.
