Ustad Yakub Ali Khan, Dr Nashid Kamal and Rumana Islam honoured

Three prominent figures from the country’s music scene Ustad Yakub Ali Khan, Dr Nashid Kamal and Rumana Islam were bestowed with a prestigious award for their significant contributions to
the music. The award ceremony took place on Saturday at a city hotel in the capital’s Gulshan area. Member of the Parliament Sherifa Kader was present
as the chief guest at the event.
The occasion was the culmination of the thirty-year anniversary celebration of the Kotha Lalitakala Academy and the commendation of talented individuals in the music fraternity.
Ustad Yakub Ali Khan expressed his joy at receiving the recognition, and expressed, “Undoubtedly, receiving recognition at a prestigious institution’s thirtieth-anniversary celebration brings immense joy. The organisers’ heartfelt appreciation for my work has motivated me to be even more dedicated and attentive to my craft. This acknowledgment rightfully validates my efforts, and it feels truly gratifying.”
Dr Nashid Kamal and Rumana Islam were also honored at the same event, and they too conveyed their contentment.
