At least 14 people, including five policemen, were injured in separate incidents of arson attack in Matsya Bhaban and Mohammadpur areas of the city on Friday, the 12th day of the countrywide non-stop blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance. Of them, seven sustained burn injuries. Five policemen were injured as miscreants threw a petrol bomb at their vehicle in Matsya Bhaban area on Saturday night. The police van caught fire after miscreants hurled the petrol bomb at it near Matsya Bhaban around 8:40pm, said witnesses and hospital sources. A policeman sustained burn wounds in the incident and four others were injured while getting down from the vehicle hurriedly. Meanwhile, nine people suffered injuries after miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a bus in front of Bhanga Mosque at Mohammadpur Beribadh around 9:45pm. Six of the passengers, including Nurjahan, 30, Billal, 26, Arman, 40, and Abu Taher, 73, sustained burn injuries while the three others — minor boy Rifat, Sujan and Monwara Begum — were injured while getting off the burning bus hurriedly.
