Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber Vice President AM Mahbub Chowdhury has given a letter to the Finance Minister demanding
realisation of duties step by step
instead of collecting the tariff of imported shipment in bond facilities.
In a letter sent on Monday, he mentioned that the customs duty of the larger industrial organization in the country is more than 100 billion.
For this, the National Board of Revenue has provided bond benefits to the industrial institutions for the purpose of operating the industrial factories. On the other hand, Russia-Ukrane war, global downturn, raw material price rise and banking facilities in the country are limited to financial crisis.
It is also learned that instead of collecting tariffs by the Bond Customs of Bond benefits, the Chittagong Custom House is not exempted from Customs House. Due to which the tariffs are reduced by multiple bond customs. On the other hand, the industry is a frosty situation to provide all the money imported to bond facilities together.
Again, the cost of operating the interest of bank loans is increasing in order to pay so much money together. As a result, the prices of goods are increasing in the country and the industrialisation of the country is being shrinking due to failure to raise money.
It has also been reported that many Galvanizing factory, who export abroad, have reduced the export of local products and domestic products due to the unable to provide huge customs tariffs against HR coil imports. As a result, the export of domestic goods and the country’s valuable foreign currency collection is being damaged.
