Popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury in the meantime has been completed shooting of the biopic of renowned filmmaker Mrinal Sen titled ‘Padatik,’ directed by Srijit Mukherji. Meanwhile, a newspaper has published an interview with Chanchal Chowdhury (in role of Mrinal Sen), director Srijit Mukheji and the
producer of this movie. Originally
it was published on the occasion of Mrinal Sen’s birth centenary.
By publishing that picture on his Facebook wall, Chanchal Chowdhury wrote while expressing his feelings,
“I myself was surprised at first when I saw the picture…is it Mrinal Sen or me!!! It took me a while to realise the truth, and I like it a lot.
It was make-up artist Somnath Kundu’s amazing work. On the
occasion of Mrinal Sen’s birth centenary, with this film of me in the role of Mrinal Sen, director Srijit Mukherji and producer Firdausul Hasan the famous magazine ‘Variety’ has published an interview. I have finished the work of Mrinal Sen’s biographical movie ‘Padatik’ with grief over the sudden death of my father.
The movie will be released this year in the theatres. The producer wants to release the movie ‘Padatik’ in both the Bengals at the same time. Srijit Mukherji made the movie ‘Padatik’ to pay tribute to the famous filmmaker Mrinal Sen on his birth centenary. I have thanks and immense gratitude to Srijitda for choosing me to play such a challenging role.”
Meanwhile, the song titled ‘Dhaka Shohor Aisha Aamar Asha Puraichhe’ written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar in the voice of Chanchal Chowdhury and Meher Afroz Shaon was released on YouTube last Eid. The song has been sung again by dedicating it to Gazi Mazharul Anwar. Emon Saha arranged the new music of the song. Earlier, Satya Saha composed the tune and music of the song. The song was originally rendered by Khondokar Faruk Ahmed and Shammi Akhtar.
