Chattogram Bureau :

ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway Ministry, has ordered to vacate the
historic Railway European Club, which is enshrined
in the memory of Augnikannya Pritilata Wadderer, within the next one week.
While talking to the Railway GM, he said that during the visit of the late President of India Pranab Mukherjee to the European Club, the railway activities were removed from here and the club was vacated, but after a few days some official work of the railway was again going on.
The railway authorities have failed to show due respect to this honorable place of history despite repeated requests. At this time, he made it clear that the history-loving people of Chattogram will stand with the people if the history-loving people of Chattogram are not fully rescued within the next one week.
On behalf of European Bangladesh Forum EBF, prominent columnist Rotarian Pradeep Kumar Dutt, son of Martyr Hiranya Kumar Dutt and Rotarian writer-journalist Shaukat Bangali, son of linguist and freedom fighter AK Fazlul Haque, exchanged views with ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury at his residence on Sunday afternoon, May 14. When the European Club was brought up, he immediately told the Railway GM these things.
Later, Fazle Karim Chowdhury also spoke to eminent lawyer Rana Das Gupta involved in the European Club rescue movement and expected the role of civil society citizens of Chattogram in this regard.
Meanwhile, in continuation of the work that the Bangladesh government, civil society and expatriate Bangladeshi organisations in support of the liberation war are doing tirelessly for the international recognition of the genocide committed by the Pakistan Army in Bangladesh in 1971, five people consisting of European parliamentarians, genocide experts, and foreign journalists will be invited by the EBF on May 20 to 26. He invited the group coming to Bangladesh to visit the Jagatmallapara and Unsatarpara slaughterhouses in Raozan.
