High-rise buildings for vulnerable people in hills: CCC Mayor

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that district administration has been given 18 gandas of khas land to build multi-storied buildings for the people living at risk in different hills of the city. He said that the number of climate refugees is increasing rapidly in Chattogram.
To deal with this situation, if a big project like Bangabandhu’s daughter’s asylum project is taken, this problem will be solved.
And now CCC and district administration have agreed to conduct a joint crackdown against the people occupying the hills illegally. The Mayor said these things while reviewing the overall situation of the cyclone and conducting service activities from the open control room on the ground floor of CCC sub-division building in Dampara on Sunday. CCC Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Secretary Khaled Mahmud, Councilor Chaleh Ahmed Chowdhury, Abul Hasnat Mohammad Belal, Tashlima Begum Nurjahan, Mayor’s Private Secretary Abul Hashem, Chief Accounting Officer Humayun Kabir Chowdhury and various department and branch heads of CCC were present.
