Chattogram Bureau :

Chattogram Port, which was at a standstill due to cyclone ‘Mocha’, has returned to activity. On Monday at 4:30am, the ships that were sent to outer anchorage on the first tide of the Karnaphuli River were brought back one by one to the main jetty.
On Sunday night, the Meteorological Department asked the Chattogram Port to lower the distress signal No 8 and display the local warning signal No 3 as cyclone ‘Mocha’ crossed the Bangladesh coast. In view of this, the Chattogram Port Authority has finalised the plan to normalise the port operations by withdrawing its own alert. 24 vessels are listed to be brought to various jetties including GCB, NCT, CCT, Dolphin Jetty and Water Bus Terminal of the port.
Under the supervision of the port’s own eighteen pilots, the work of bringing these ships from the outer anchorage to the jetty began at the tide of 4:30 in the morning. Port Pilot Vessel ‘Dishari 2’, Tugboats Kandari 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 and 11 assist in operations.
