Today is the birthday of popular actor, director and freedom-fighter Tariq Anam Khan. Tariq Anam never had any extra ambition to celebrate his birthday.
He passes the day normally like any other day of the year. While talking about his birthday, Tariq Anam Khan told this correspondent, “I always actually feel that if I do something special, someone else will
celebrate my birthday. And if I don’t, no one will. Today will be like my other days as usual. I will leave the house; I have some work to do. But all I want to say on my birthday is that I wish everyone to be healthy and well. I can do better story based works.”
Last Eid, two dramas titled ‘Bhalobasi Tomay’ starring Tariq Anam Khan and directed by BU Shuvo and ‘Eye Wash,’ directed by Adibasi Mizan, have received
good response from the audience.
Tariq Anam Khan recently attended the 45th Moscow International Film Festival. The film ‘Peyarar Subash’ starring Tariq Anam Khan and directed
by Nurul Alam Atique had its world premiere at
the festival. The process of releasing the movie in
the country is going on soon. Jaya Ahsan played
an important role in the movie.
Tariq Anam Khan said that the movie ‘Gungchil’ directed by Noim Imtiaz Neyamul starring him is waiting for release. Apart from this, the movie ‘Mona,’ produced by Jazz, is also likely to be released next Eid.
Tariq Anam Khan won the National Film Award twice for his performance in ‘Desha-The Leader’ and ‘Abar Boshonte’. Some of his notable movies include ‘Ghuddi,’ ‘Lal Sabujer Pala,’ ‘Suruj Mia,’ ‘Aamar Ghor Aamar Behesth,’ ‘Joyjatra,’ ‘Made In Bangladesh,’
‘Aha!’ ‘Jaago,’ ‘Ghetuputro Komola,’ ‘Shapludu,’
‘Make-up,’ ‘Mridha Bonam Mridha,’ etc.
Tariq Anam Khan and his theatre troupe, ‘Natyakendra’ have a special role in making the stage drama of Bangladesh more acceptable and appreciated by the audience. It has been 32 years since the
establishment of ‘Natyakendra’. Tauquir Ahmed, Nahid Ferdous Meghna, Zahid Hasan, Mosharraf Karim, Shafiq Sadeki and many others are worth
mentioning among those who got stardom
in Bangladesh TV dramas through his hands.
Tariq Anam also won the hearts of the audience
by directing stage plays.
In the last year of 2016, Tariq Anam Khan directed two plays titled ‘Bonduk Juddho’ and ‘Gadhar Haat’ were staged. His theatre troupe’s last production
was Yousuf Hasan Arko directed drama ‘Punnah’.
He has also given lectures as a guest teacher
at the drama departments of Dhaka University
and Jahangirnagar University in the beginning
of their establishments.
