A fire broke out in an abandoned tire warehouse at Dewanhat in the city. Meanwhile, panic spread in the area.Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service Md. Abdul Hamid Mia told that 12 units of the fire service started working to control the fire after receiving information about the fire at 12:45 PM on Saturday (April 29).On the other hand, the tire fire takes a terrible form when it spreads to nearby objects.The fire was not brought under control even after trying for almost 2 hours. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Train movement has been stopped after the fire on the side of the railway line. Chittagong Railway Station Master Zafar Alam told that the Sonar Bangla train coming from Dhaka could not enter the station due to the fire. Besides, Vijay and Mahanagar Express are also stuck at Marshall Yard. If the fire is extinguished, the train will run normally, station master told.
