Daffodil International University Air Rover Scout Group recently held a Scouts’ Own and National Service Award 2021 Certificate Distribution Ceremony, followed by an Iftar Mahfil, on Wednesday.
The event was held at the Daffodil Smart City in Birulia, Savar, Dhaka, and was attended by a large number of Rovers from various units and regions, scout personnel including Trainers, Leaders, DIU Air Rovers (existing and former), as well as the distinguished guests.
Manzoor Mohammad Shahriar, Director of the National Directorate of Consumer Protection, was present as the chief guest. Dr. Sharifa Sultana, Associate Professor and Associate Head, Department of Pharmacy was present as the special guest while Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU and President of DIU Air Rover Scout Group, presided over the program. During his address, Mr. Shahriar emphasized the crucial role that scouting plays in building character, developing successful leaders, and contributing to society. He also commended the DIU Air Rover Scout Group for introducing the Rover Movement at the university and urged the students to be more active and participative in the movement.
In his presidential address, Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman highlighted the importance of scouting in teaching Rovers how to lead a disciplined life and grow their leadership skills. He encouraged the Rovers to abide by the rules of Scout Motto, which will help them become complete human beings and inspire them to serve mankind.
A large number of Rovers from different units and regions, scout personnel’s including Trainers, Leaders, DIU Air Rovers (existing and former) participated in this program.
