Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and freedom fighter Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury will be buried at Gonoshasthaya Kendra at Savar on Friday.
Dr. Zafrullah’s son and environmentalist Barik Chowdhury said this while talking prior to his father’s namaz-e-janaza at Suhrawardy Udyan around 2:30 pm.
Barik Chowdhury said, “My father wanted his body to be donated for medical science. I have discussed this with Gonoshasthaya Kendra and Dhaka Medical College.”
“But out of respect for him, no hospital agreed to cut his body. So his body will be buried at Savar Gonoshasthaya Kendra,”he added.
Jahangir Alam Mintu, Press Adviser of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, said that his second namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in Dhanmondi.
His body will be taken to Savar’s Gono Bishwabidyalay campus at 10 am tomorrow. After Jum’ah prayers, another namaz-e-janaza will be held on the university campus.
After the namaz-e-janaza, he will be laid to rest Gonoshasthaya Kendra of Savar, he added.
