Maftoha Jannat Jim’s progress in acting

The drama ‘Choitonnyopur’ was produced in a shooting house in Pubail, near the capital. The central character of the drama, ‘Basonti’ is played
by the first year student of Drama Department of Jagannath University, Maftoha Jannat Jim. The shooting of the drama has already been completed. The drama is written by Gauhar Ghalib and directed by Babu Siddiqui.
Hailed from Mymensingh, Jim’s dream is to become a good actress. Keeping that dream in her heart, she is acting in good story based dramas one after another. In the meantime, she acted in Jahangir Chowdhury’s ‘Ektuku Chhowa Lage’ (Gitinatya- first acting), Mehedi Hasan Babu’s
‘Jibon Nodir Golpo,’ Maria Tushar’s ‘Rooftop,’ Chandan Chowdhury’s
‘Je Pother Shesh Nei,’ and SK Shuvo’s ‘Abegi Mon.’
While talking about her career, Jim told this correspondent, “I am
studying drama to fulfill my dream of becoming an actress. I have already worked in several dramas. I am preparing myself little by little.
My first job was a ballad. After that I am working regularly in drama. The story of the drama ‘Choitonnyopur’ is about the conflict between Hindus and Muslims. I played the role of ‘Basonti’ in the drama. I like the story very much. I hope the audience will like the drama when it airs.”
During childhood, Jim worked as a model in an advertisement
directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. Even in adulthood, she worked as an advertising model. Her performed notable TVCs are: ‘Vision AC,’ ‘Quality Khirsa Ice-cream,’ ‘Sharif Melamine,’ etc.
Jim has previously danced on various TV channels. In the future,
if she gets a chance to dance solo in a good dance programme,
Jim wants to use her talent there as well, she said.
