Tahmeena Sultana Mou plays role of Birangona Sokhina

Popular actress of the small screen, Tahmeena Sultana Mou is playing the lead role in the
Liberation War-based tele-fiction titled ‘Swadhinotar Swapner Phool.’ Mou played the role of war heroine named ‘Sokhina’ in the tele-fiction, which will be aired on Bangladesh Television (BTV) on March 10.
Although earlier Mou acted in several dramas on the Liberation War, according to the actress,
she never got the opportunity to play a
challenging role like ‘Sokhina.’
While talking about playing the role of a war
heroine, Mou told this correspondent, “I have not seen the movie titled ‘Birangona Sokhina’ before, but
I knew Bobita Madam in her ornamented career once played the role of ‘Birangona’ (war heroine) in
a movie. It was very challenging for me to play the central role in the tele-fiction. The whole unit tried
to put their best effort into this project. Although
I am not satisfied with my performance, I think it could have been done better. Still, I hope the audience will like my performance in the tele-fiction.”
The shooting of the tele-fiction took place in Pubail in Gazipur, said the actress. The tele-fiction is based on a story written by eminent writer Jahanara Imam. However, Shihab Shahriar wrote the
screenplay of the tele-fiction.
