Amar Ekushey Book Fair ends in Port City

The 21-day Amar Ekushey Book Fair was ended on February 28 in Chattogram. On the last day, this gathering of writers, readers and publishers was crowded. A lot of books were sold.
In the speech as the chief guest, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Dr Hasan Mahmud said that if the new generation is to be acquainted with the culture of modern Bengal, they should be given books. Online social media has taken the place of books due to sky culture. To build the new generation, take our responsibility and hand over the books of history and heritage to them.
The Minister advised to add various cultural activities including stage plays to organise this book fair on a larger scale in the future.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury in his speech said that books inspire people with a fighting spirit. From our great language movement to liberation war, books have played a role in uniting people in every historical struggle. “As the Mayor, I have organised this book fair for the intellectual development of the people of Bir Chattala and next year I will enlarge the premises of this book fair. According to the suggestion of the Minister, we will increase the scope of cultural activities including stage plays at the book fair next year.”
