Honorary consuls of four countries in one family

Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman is the leader of PHP family, one of the country’s industrial groups. Sufi style of simple living made this leading industrialist of the country unique. He was awarded Ekushey Padak,
the country’s highest honor during his lifetime. Along with business, he has been
contributing to social service and education.
After the independence, Sufi Mizanur Rahman left the bank job and started business in Chattogram. After that, he built 33 institutions one by one in five decades. About 10 thousand people are currently working in these institutions. PHP Group currently has an annual turnover of around Tk5,000 crore. Thousands of crores of rupees are deposited in the government treasury every year. Apart from the business, the PHP family also runs a university called UITS.
Sufi Mizanur Rahman has been serving as Honorary Consul of Indonesia since January 4, 2018. Three of his children hold honorary consul duties in three other countries.It begins with Mohammad Mohsin, the eldest son of Sufi Mizan. On March 3, 2015, he took charge as Honorary Consul of Korea in Gazipur. Then on January 18, 2016, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, the son of Mezh, took charge as Honorary Consul of Rwanda in Dhaka.
Last February 15, Mohammad Akhtar Parvez Hiru, another son of Sufi Mizan, was appointed as Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Chattogram. Mohammad Mohsin, the elder son of Sufi Mizanur Rahman, is a saint of Sufi music. Another son Aktar Parvez Hiru is a young entrepreneur and businessman.
