Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s press secretary Abul Kalam Azad has been made Managing Director and Chief Editor of the state-run news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.
“He (Azad) has been appointed for a three-year term on contractual basis and he will enjoy the facilities and status of a secretary,” Senior Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder of the ministry told UNB.
Contacted, Azad said, “I’ve received the order. I’ll make a farewell visit to the PMO this morning. Then I’ll join my new assignment.”
