Lemis in search of roots on Valentine’s Day

This is the first time Lemis rendered the melody folk song. Music video of her song titled ‘Sokha’ was released
on YouTube channel of noted journalist Molla Jalal, Tritalmusic, on February 12. Lyrics and music of the song were composed by Molla Jalal.
While talking about her this folk-based song, Lemis told this correspondent, “From
now on I will sing melodious songs because original songs keep an artiste alive forever. But people don’t remember items for long. I like this song composed by Molla Jalal
Bhai. The burden of judging
how much I was able to
sing the song is with
the listeners. I believe
that the song will be liked
by music lovers.”
Basically, Lemis is known as a pop genre item song artiste. She came into discussion to perform in an ‘item song’
in Iftekhar Chowdhury’s movie ‘Agni.’ After that
she never looked back. She came under the footlights
by playing back one film after another. Among these films, ‘Aro Bhalobasbo Tomai,’ ‘Nogor Mastan,’ Maa,’ ‘Target,’ ‘Antorongo,’ ‘Bhalobasa Express,’ ‘Ajob Prem,’ ‘Jotil Prem,’ ‘Dobir Saheb er Songsar,’ ‘Agni-2,’ ‘Niyoti,’ ‘Astittwo,’ ‘Ratrir Jatri,’ ‘Bijli,’ ‘Pashan,’ ‘Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na’ are mentionable. Musical journey
of Lemis dates back to childhood. It was 2008-09, since then he involved himself with the audio world. During that time, she also did playback in two films. Since then, her dream was to become a big artiste. Apart from Bangladesh Television’s ‘Notun Kuri’ competition, she also participated in countless competitions as
a child artiste. She regularly participated in National Education Weeks as well. She had to suffer a lot to reach this stage. She spent a long time
in love with music. Music
is her meditation.
Lemis first entered into audio music arena under composition of popular musician Shafiq Tuhin. Her rendered song titled ‘Ki Je Koro Moina’ with Asif Akbar in movie ‘Ratrir Jatri’ got huge
popularity during that time. She also lent her voice for duet song with Mumbai’s famous playback singer Nakash Aziz
in Savi Gupta’s musical
composition.
