Sharmin Rauma’s new original song for Valentine’s Day

Sharmin Rauma, who originally came to the fore as a musician more than 12 years ago with the song titled ‘Bhalobasar Swapnojatra.’ The song was written by Mahmood Khurshid and composed by Manam Ahmed. And after that, she left the country with a job, but after two years, after returning
to the country, the demand for Sharmin Rauma’s stage show increased. For
several days in a row, she enchanted the audience with song after song in the stage show. Her last original song was released in 2019. On this coming Valentine’s Day, Sharmin Rauma brings her new original song titled ‘Uru Uru Mon’ to the audience on her YouTube channel, Rauma. Robiul Islam Jibon wrote lyrics of the song while Manam Ahmed has composed its music.
While talking about her new original song on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Sharmin Rauma told this correspondent, “Uru Uru Mon’ is a love song. It is a great melodious song with lyrics and melody. Basically, it’s a pure love song. Audiences have been impressed by my songs before. I have tried to give my best as a singer in the new song as well. I hope the audience will like my new song.”
Rauma’s childhood music was close to her mother. Her mother rendered song very well. Later in her school life, Rauma completed a five-year course in classical music and Nazrul Sangeet at Bulbul Lalitkala Academy in Dhaka. She tried to improve herself in music by taking lessons from Ustad Leo G. Baroi and Ustad Salauddin Ahmed. Later, she learned to play the piano at Dhaka International Music College and also did vocal training.
Sharmin Rauma’s debut solo musical album titled ‘Swapno Digonto Chhuye’ was released in 2006. In 2009, her second album ‘Swapnojatra’ was released. She first lent her voice with SI Tutul for playback song in Sohanur Rahman Sohan’s movie ‘The Speed.’ She rendered the song which lyrics were written by Kabir Bakul and music was composed by Shawkat Ali Emon. Later, she also lent her voice for playback songs in more than 50 movies under composition of Emon Saha, Ali Akram Shuvo, Ahmed Humayun, among others.
In 2009, Rauma joined in a television channel in London, UK. At the end of 2011, she returned to the country and again engaged in music. She joined the BBC as a news presenter in 2013. Now she is working as Senior Journalist (Team Manager) at BBC. Since the launch of BBC TV in 2015, Sharmin Rauma has been producing and presenting ‘BBC Probaho’ with contemporary news. She is also producing the ‘BD Trending.’
