Sonam Kapoor’s movie ‘Blind’ struggles to sell
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja starrer ‘Blind’ didn’t have takers on OTT due to
the high asking price demanded
by the film’s makers. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s one and only film on release has been refused the buying price
of Rs30 crores by all the major OTT platforms, reports Times of India.
Sonam Kapoor got to play blind
for the first time in producer Sujoy Ghosh’s film tiltled ‘Blind.’ The film, which was completed in early 2021, has not found a buyer either on
the OTT platform or in the cinemas.
Major OTT platforms are no longer gullible or grateful to get A-listers’ duds like Coolie No 1 and
Laxmi Bomb. Quality-control is
being strictly exercised by all the major OTT platforms.
A film like ‘Blind,’ with a female hero, has to be as powerful as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ to attract digital attention. Sonam Kapoor in the lead in the remake
of a Korean film is just not
attractive enough.
‘Blind’ is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, Avishek Ghosh, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim, Sachin Nahar, Pinkesh Nahar and Manish W. The film features Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in lead role with Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles. ‘Blind’ is the remake of the 2011 Korean film by the same name.
The story centres around a blind police officer in search of a serial killer. Before this, Sonam Kapoor
was last seen on the big screen in the 2019 film The Zoya Factor.
