Chattogram Bureau :
The eight-day Flower Festival is going to start in Chattogram for the first time on February 10. The festival will be organised by the district administration at DC Park on the Marine Drive road from Faujdarhat in Sitakunda to the port link road. The festival will continue till February 18.
It is known that the DC Park adjacent to Marine Drive on the Faujdarhat-Bandar link road was occupied by land grabbers even a month ago. Both sides of the road have lost their beauty due to hundreds of illegal establishments including shops, hotels and restaurants. In the space of just one month, tulip flowers are adorning the place of illegal installations. On January 4, the Chattogram district administration recovered this land of 194 acres and built the DC Flower Park there. Apart from this, various types of fruits and forest trees have been planted there.
Sitakunda Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ashraful Alam told the media that the Chattogram district administration has organised this for the citizens to get some peace from the busy civic life.
Among the immense beauty of hundreds of spring flowers, trees, vines and bushes, the main attraction will be the tulip flower that bloomed for the first time in the soil of Chattogram. There will also be kayaking, kite festival, spear fishing facility and kids zone for children.
