Train to go Cox’s Bazar thru repaired Kalurghat Bridge

Kalurghat Bridge will be repaired based on BUET survey report. That
is why Bangladesh Railway is going
to tender next March. A report has already been received from the BUET expert team.
The bridge will be repaired after receiving the final report.
By the end of this year, trains will run on the Cox’s Bazar route through the repaired bridge. Railway Eastern Chief Engineer Abu Zafar Mia told the media that he has received a preliminary report from Buet. “Will get another report soon. Our one year contact with Buet. The survey report should be submitted to us in between. After getting another report we will go for tender in March.”
According to railway sources, the construction work of Kalurghat new bridge will start in 2024. Meanwhile, the work of Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway line is progressing at a fast pace. Already 50 km railway line has been laid in Cox’s Bazar section. 80 per cent of the entire project has been completed, railway east zone sources added.
