Still, Dilara Zaman’s indomitable rush in acting

Ekushey Padak winner noted actress Dilara Zaman is still acting regularly at the age of 81. A few days ago, a film
starring her was also released. Her performance in the movie was well received by the audience. Dilara Zaman is such an elite actress, especially in dramas and movies she is impeccable as a mother. That’s why the directors now try to work with Dilara Zaman if she fits the role of mother in the story.
Director Gholam Habib Litu therefore produced his special tele-fiction titled ‘Ma Babar Porinoti’ in which Dilara Zaman acted as a mother and worked in various locations in Manikganj. Tushar Kanti Sarkar wrote story of the tele-fiction where Jayanta Chattopadhyay is playing as a co-star of Dilara Zaman.
While talking about acting in the telefilm, Dilara Zaman told this correspondent, “At this age, it becomes really difficult for me to work outside Dhaka. But still Litu’s special request is to work in this tele-fiction because he said that he wants to work with me in my character. His strong interest around me inspired me more. Truthfully, life is a battle. People have to fight this war forever. That’s why I am acting even at this age. Of course life needs that. But it is also true that there is a lot of love for acting because if you don’t come to the shooting, you will not meet many of your favourite co-stars. At the shooting spot, I actually meet everyone, talk, talk – I like it a lot.”
Dilara Zaman informed that this tele-fiction will be aired on Channel i soon.
Dilara Zaman starrer last released movie was short film ‘Omar Faruk er Maa,’ directed by MA Rahim. This veteran played the central role of the story in this short film.
In 1957, Dilara Zaman acted in her first play at school. The drama was Sarat Chandra’s ‘Mamlar Fol.’ In 1966, for the first time, she acted in a drama, produced by Atiqul Haque Chowdhury, for Betar (radio). Nazmul Alam wrote story of the drama.
In television, in 1966, Dilara Zaman first acted in a drama titled ‘Pinish,’ which story was written by Khan Joynul. Abdullah Al Mamun was director of that drama. Under Humayun Ahmed’s direction, for the first time, she acted opposite Golam Mustafa in a drama titled ‘Diner Sheshe’ in 1984. Later, she also acted in Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Ei Sob Din Ratri,’ ‘Ayomoy.’
‘Aguner Poroshmoni,’ ‘Chandrakotha,’ ‘Meghla Akash,’ ‘Monpura,’ ‘Chondrogrohon,’ ‘Opekkha,’ ‘Altabanu,’ ‘Postmaster 71,’ etc are Dilara Zaman starrer her mentionable movies.
