Non-stop trains at night on Ctg-Dhaka route proposed

Railway East has made a proposal to
run a pair of non-stop trains on the Dhaka-Chattogram route. If this
proposal is approved, a pair of non-stop trains will run on this route in the
morning and afternoon as well as at night. Railway officials said that the introduction of new non-stop trains
may be finalized with the introduction
of new working time table (WTT).
The concerned said that the new working time table (WTT) is being prepared after three years for the trains operating on different routes. It has made several recommendations for changes in the timetable of existing trains and introduction of new trains. Meanwhile, Railway Eastern zone has proposed to run a pair of non-stop trains at night on the Dhaka-Chattogram route.
According to the proposal of the transport department, except on weekends, one train will run from Dhaka to Chattogram at 11:30pm and at the same time one train will run from Chattogram to Dhaka. Both the trains will not stop at any station en route will run continuously. It will take about five hours to reach the destination.
Each train will have 14 to 18 bogeys. It is proposed to run the new train with the bogeys of Subarna Express leaving Chattogram at 7:00am and Sonar Bangla Express train leaving Chattogram at 5:00pm. If necessary, it has been said to add coaches recently bought from abroad. This proposal of the eastern region will now be sent to the Railway ministry. Final instructions in this regard will be issued from the ministry.
