‘Priyo Satyajit’ to screen at Jaipur Int’l Film Festival

‘Priyo Satyajit,’ a tribute-film based on the legendary Bengali filmmaker Satyajit Ray, will be screened at the Jaipur International Film Festival
on January 7. The movie has been directed by Bangladeshi independent filmmaker, Proshoon Rahmaan, said a press release.
The movie has already made its way to a number of international film festivals, including the International Film Festival of Kerala, India (IFFK) and Vancouver South Asian International Film Festival (VISAFF) in Canada.
‘Priyo Satyajit’ will also be screened at Dhaka Lit Fest, which will take place at Bangla Academy on January 6 at 5:30pm.
While talking in this regard, director of the movie, Proshoon Rahmaan told media, “After participating in several international festivals, this is for the first time ‘Priyo Satyajit’ will be screened in Dhaka. I give thanks to the organisers for inviting me to the Dhaka Lit Fest.”
The movie will feature prolific theatre, film and television actor Ahmed Rubel in the lead role.
The plot of ‘Priyo Satyajit’ focuses on three filmmakers from three different generations.
Actor Ahmed Rubel will be portraying the role of an elderly filmmaker named Asif Mahmud, who is influenced by Satyajit Ray throughout his life.
On the other hand, actress Moutushi Biswas will be seen as emerging filmmaker Aparajita, who is also the narrator of the story, said the director.
