ACC launches probes against Anee, 2 others

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday launched probes into the graft allegations against BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee and two others.
The commission at its regular meeting yesterday appointed three inquiry
officers to carry out probes into the allegations of illegal wealth accumulations by them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. ACC deputy director Khandaker Khalilur Rahman will conduct inquiry into the graft allegation of Anee while deputy director Farid Uddin Patwari against Jamaat leader Mia Golam Parwar (former MP of Khulna-5) and deputy director Abdus Sattar against businessman Rezabudullah.
On January 29 last, the ACC decided to launch probes against three graft suspects after it received allegations that they amassed huge wealth illegally. Earlier, in January last, the ACC decided to probe the allegations of unusual wealth accumulations by seven politicians. The ACC inquiry officers are now conducting probes into the graft allegation, against former Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Water Resources M Mahbubur Rahman, Enamul Haque, MP (Rajshahi-4), Abdur Rahman Bodi, MP, (Ukhia-Teknaf), Aslamul Haque, MP, (Dhaka-14) and Abdul Jabbar, former MP, (Satkhira-2).
