Mehazabien, Tahsan among top taxpayers in categories of actors, singers

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) publishes the list of top taxpayers each year to raise awareness and encourage tax payment among the citizens. Among the top taxpayers of this year are six celebrities from the entertainment industry.
In the fiscal year 2021-22, a total of 141 individuals and organizations have made it to the list of top taxpayers. NBR through gazette published the list on December 21.
Singers Tahsan Khan, S D Rubel and Kumar Biswajit were selected the top taxpayers this year in the musician category.
In the acting category, selected best taxpayers of the year are Mehazabien Chowdhury, Mahfuz Ahmed and Pijush Banerjee.
Among the six stars, Mehazabien Chowdhury is the only one who appeared on this list for the first time. Other celebrities of the list received this recognition multiple times before.
As the top taxpayers, they will receive tax card and honour from the National Board of Revenue.
The tax card will remain valid for one following year.
These cards are issued under the revised National Tax Card Policy 2010. Cardholders will get different state benefits.
According to the policy, tax cardholders will get invitations to various national functions. They will get priority service for hotels, restaurants and travel tickets. They will also get access to the VIP lounge at the airport.
More to that, the tax cardholders and their family members will get bed facility on priority basis in the hospital in case of treatment.
