General Secretary of City Awami League and former mayor A J M Nasir Uddin said that the official list of planned killers of intellectuals has not been
finalised yet. What is more unfortunate is that who in the area is against the
spirit of the Liberation War, who is the friend of the defeated forces of 1971 – we don’t even know their names.
He said these things in the meeting after paying tribute at Pahartali Slaughterhouse in the port city on Tuesday (December 14) morning on the Martyred Intellectuals’ Day.
Nasir said, “When the call comes to deal with evil forces, we cannot identify them. But we who are supporters of liberation war and followers of Bangabandhu’s ideology, they have our name list. They can easily target us.” City Awami League Acting President Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury presided over the programme and Legal Affairs Secretary Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury moderated the meeting. Vice President Naeem Uddin Chowdhury, Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury Babul, Khorshed Alam Sujan, among others, were also present on the occasion.
