North South University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Laurentian University, Canada to operate a series of programs for the benefit of the university’s students.
Vice-Chancellor of NSU Professor Atiqul Islam and Dr. Serge Demers, Associate Vice President of Laurentian University signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides at a program held at the NSU campus on Sunday 20 November, 2022.
The purpose of this MoU is to develop academic and research cooperation and to promote mutual understanding between two educational institutions. It will also help the students to transfer credits.
Vice-Chancellor of NSU Professor Atiqul Islam said, “We hope that this MoU will help our students. In future, we can provide some other facilities to our researchers as well.”
He thanked Laurentian University for showing their support to NSU.

Ismail Hossain, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Dr Helal Ahammad, Dean, School of Business & Economics, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mahmud Reza, Dean, School of Health & Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rob Khan, Dean, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Dr. Ahmed Tazmeen, Registrar, Dr. Norman K. Swazo, Director, Office of Research, Dr. Katherine Li, Director, External Affairs, Jamil Ahmed, Director, Public Relations Office were present at the program.
Dr. Krishna S. Challagulla, Associate Professor – Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Sujoy Pritam, In-Country Representative (Bangladesh), International Recruitment, Ms. Khandoker Sumaiya Samah, International Recruitment Assistant (Bangladesh) were present.
Ms. Angela Dark, Senior Trade Commissioner, High Commission of Canada were invited to this occasion. She mentioned in the program that she would like to consider herself as a Liaison medium between this two universities, and would like to see both of these institutions grow in their respective fields of academia and research.
