Amulya Ranjan Halder, Pirorjpur district unit of AL advisory council member and Nazirpur upazila Parishad Chairman, died of heart attack at Pirojpur district hospital on Tuesday afternoon. He was 83.
He is survived by a daughter and two sons.
Family sources said Halder felt sick at his Nazirpur residence around 11am and then he was taken to the hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
In a condolence message, Fisheries and Livestock Minister S M Rezaul Karim expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Halder.
He prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
