107 tonnes of imported cloth seized by Ctg Customs

107 tonnes of cloth were seized during clearance of unauthorised warehouses for sale in open market by bringing in bond facility. The team of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department conducted the raid at Barwanighata in Halishahar recently.
At this time, three 40 feet long containers and 107.26 tonnes of polyester woven fabrics were seized from the warehouse. Speedway Logistics was the C&F clearing the consignment of importer Goldtex Garments of Savar DEPZ. The dutiable value of the seized cloth is Tk 3 crore 22 lakh.
Market value is Tk10 crores. Additional Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department, Bashir Ahmed confirmed these things to the media. He said deliveries to on-chassis facilities were being illegally stored in unauthorized warehouses, which is misuse of bonded warehouse facilities. The process of filing a case in this incident is going on.
