Chinese ambassador visits Teesta barrage area

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming visited the Teesta Barrage at Dalia in Nilphamari Monday morning. At that time he was accompanied by Md. Amirul Islam Bhuiyan, Chief Engineer of Water Development Board, Northern Area, Rangpur, Executive Engineer of Dalia Division, Asfawddaula, Executive Engineer of Dalia Mechanical Division, Rubaiyat Imtiaz and other officials.
On the second day (October 10) of the two-day visit starting from October 9, he has discussed various aspects of the proposed Teesta Master Plan between the two countries with senior officials of the Water Development Board, Divisional Commissioners and local dignitaries. (Teesta River Comprehensive Management and Restoration Project). Earlier Sunday at 8.30 am, he landed at Syedpur Airport in Nilphamari by US Bangla flight from Dhaka and proceeded directly to the Teesta Barrage area.
