People’s voting right denied, this is not constitutional: Mainul

Voting right is the people’s right and they have been denied the right to choose government of their choice, said Barrister Mainul Hosein at a discussion on 71 TV Channel last evening. Barrister Hosein affirmed that it should be a shame for the government and also for the people as the election did not reflect people’s wishes. The voting right is not a party affair between the BNP and the Awami League, he said. It is not their party matters.People’s voting right is people’s and what BNP or Jamaat did is not our concern, he said. It was the constitutional responsibility of the government to create proper and peaceful atmosphere but it has failed to do so, he added.Barrister Hosein explained that such election has no people’s mandate and it will have consequences. Barrister Rafiqul Haque urged that fresh election should be arranged to stop all disputes.
