Shoumi gets response from music videos

Though Samonty Shoumi is hailed from Kolkata but her full family including she is residing in Dhaka. She started her career in showbiz through participating in ‘Lux-Channel i Superstar’ contest in 2013. At first, she acted in Gias Uddin Selim directed a telefilm. Then she took a break from showbiz for completing her SSC, HSC and college studies. Now she is giving more time to acting and performing as a model in music videos.
In music video, Shoumi first performed as a model in Rifat and Arnik rendered song titled Swapno Aamar. As a model, she got huge response in this music video. Later, she also performed as model in music videos of songs rendered by Kona, Tanjib Sarowar, among others. Recently Shoumi is getting huge response for performing as model in Imran rendered a song titled Ke Rakhe Aamare. Jishan Khan Shuvo has composed its tune and music. Singer Imran has arranged its music. Chandan Roy Chowdhury has made music video of the song. It was Shoumi’s first work with Imran.
Meanwhile, Shoumi also got appreciation to play the role of Tonni in Maidul Rakib’s drama series Girls’ Squad. She is now acting in second season of this series. Shoumi is hopeful about this series. According to her, if she did not take a break from study she could step forward in media. But she has no pain in this regard now. She believes she got huge response from the viewers for her works. She is impressed to get viewers’ appreciations everyday.
Shoumi said, “As I mostly performed as a model in music videos, so I got huge response from this sector. I am getting positive response for my first work with Imran. Imran renders song well but I like his music composition. He is my good friend but he is very emotional in mind. Now I want to be regular in acting. Many people say performing in music videos acting cannot be learnt properly. But I don’t believe this. I am continuing my acting properly now.”
Shoumi also said that she has already acted in Mabrur Rashid Bannah directed two single episode dramas. She also completed shooting of Bishwajit and Preeti Dutta directed two dramas. Uttam Akash-Nehal Dutta directed Boyfriend was Shoumi acted her only movie. But she has no interest to do acting in any other movie, she said.
