Rickshaw-puller beaten to death in city

UNB, Dhaka :
A rickshaw puller was beaten to death allegedly by a group of local people over a silly matter at Syadabad under Dakkhinkhan police station in the city on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Mostafizur Rahman, 35, son of late Alim Uddin of Pirganj in Rangpur.
He had been residing at a rented house at Atipara under the police station.
Police, quoting locals, said victim’s son Hasan picked an altercation with a man over a trivial matter following which he was beaten by the local people at about 10pm.
As Mostafiz protested the incident, the mob also beat him, resulting in the losing of his senses. He was rushed to a local hospital were doctors pronounced him dead at about 11:45 pm.
