US Navy ship ‘Tulsa’ berthed at Ctg port

USS Tulsa, which took part in a joint training and exercise titled ‘Karat-2021’ of Bangladesh and US Navy, has docked at Chittagong port. The ship is scheduled to leave Bangladesh on Saturday (December 11).
The ship arrived at Chittagong Port Jetty on Wednesday. The visiting ship was actually welcomed at Chittagong Port Jetty by Captain Masudul Karim Siddiqui, Chief Staff Officer of Chittagong Naval Base. At this time a well-equipped band of Bangladesh Navy performed musical instruments according to the traditional style.
During his stay in Bangladesh, Commander William Dvorak will pay a courtesy call on the US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Rear Admiral M Mozammel Haque, Regional Commander Chittagong Naval Base and Commander BN Fleet Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad.
In addition, the US Ambassador and the ship’s captain will take part in the closing ceremony of the exercise on December 9 at the School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT) at BNS Isa khan in port city.
The main objective of this joint training exercise is to develop the existing good relations between the United States and Bangladesh Navy as well as to increase the technical capabilities of the navies of both the countries and to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge on advanced technology.
