Arguments to start against Subhan Nov 5

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) – 2 on Sunday deferred the date to start placing arguments in the trial of crimes against humanity against Jamaat leader Abdus Subhan till November 5.
Sunday was fixed for starting placing arguments by the prosecution in this case. But the ICT-2 deferred the date accepting a plea of advocate Mizanul Islam, counsel for Subhan.
A total of 31 prosecution witnesses testified against Subhan, narrating the heinous crimes committed by the Jamaat leader during the War of Liberation. But none vouched for Subhan, despite the tribunal allowed the defence to produce three defence witnesses.
The 78-year-old Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer was indicted on December 31, 2013, on 9 counts of crimes against humanity by the ICT-1. On March 27, 2014, the ICT-1 transferred the case to ICT-2 acting suo moto.
