Action Aid
Action Aid, a leading non-government international organisation has provided cash support of TK 23.25 Lakh among 465 flood affected farmers of Katabari union of Gobindaganj upazila to recover their losses. The organisation distributed the money under its cash support programme for flood affected families funded by The Greta Thunberg Foundation. On the occasion of cash distribution, a function was held recently on the premises of Mahmud Bug High School of the union. Abdul Latif Prodhan, Upazila Chairman, addressed the event as the chief guest while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ram Krishna Barmon addressed as the special guest. Each of the farmers received a cheque of Tk 5000 from the organisation. The function was addressed, among others, by Upazila Agriculture Officer Mortoba Ali Manik, former Chairman of Katabaari Union Parishad Shafique Mahmud Golap and Programme Officer of Ghoraghat Action Aid Shamiur Rahman Shamim. Senior Agriculture Officer of Ghoraghat Action Aid branch office Abdul Kaiyum presided over the event.
