CCCI, JETRO sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI).
The MOU titled ‘Celebrating Fifty Years of Japan-Bangladesh Economic Friendship: Planning for Next Ten Years (2021-2030) of Private Sector Cooperation’ was signed at the Bangabandhu Conference Hall of the World Trade Center ,Chattogram on Sunday last. Chittagong Chamber President Mahbubul Alam and JETRO Dhaka Country Representative and JBCCI President UG Ando signed the MOU.Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki, Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Shahabuddin Ahmed, Deputy Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus, JICA Chief Representative in Bangladesh Hayakawa Yuho, FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim and JBCCI Vice President Shariful Alam spoke on the online platform.
Hayakawa Yuho said JICA is doing a lot of development work in Bangladesh under the Big-B Initiative including waste management, water supply, airport expansion, Matarbari project. The goal of the Big-B Initiative cannot be achieved without the participation of the private sector.
Director of the chamber SM Abu Tayyab, Anjan Shekhar Das, Md. Shahriar Jahan, Md. M Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Salman Habib, Shakif Ahmed Salam and Prince. Fauzul Alef Khan, AKM Akhtar Hissain, Syed Md. Tanveer and others were present.
