Workers demand arrear pay

Workers of Veltex International Limited , an RMG unit of Karnafuli EPZ area, which was closed in 2018, formed a human chain demanding payment of arrear pay and allowaces and money of Provident Fund.
They held a human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club yesterday (November 6) morning.
Workers and leaders at the human chain said Veltex International Limited was closed in 2018.
Even then the salaries of 600 workers were not paid. The workers were not even given money so deposited in the respective provident fund.
Labor leader Johnny Barua told media that after the closure of the company, we were not paid pay and allowances as yet. We have complained to the BEPZA authority about the matter, but there was no solution as yet.
