Staff Reporter: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam asked Bangladeshi citizens in China to comply with every directive of the authorities there to fight against the coronavirus outbreak.
The state minister wrote in a post on his Facebook page, “I would request them to comply with directives of the Chinese government without any exception until we manage to bring them back.”
“Doing so may disrupt day to day life, but for their own sake and to prevent spreading the virus, they must comply with China’s health guidelines,” the post further reads.
He also requested family members to convey the message to their relatives in China and encourage them to do as the message says.
“Our embassy officials are in contact with them round the clock and trying to solve their most urgent issues. We are coordinating and monitoring their activities from Dhaka,” the state minister said in his post.
