School Handball Tournament begins tomorrow

The Polar Ice cream 22nd School Handball (Boys’ & Girls’) Tournament begins tomorrow at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
Bangladesh Handball Federation will arrange the handball meet with the financial support of Polar Ice cream.
A total of 15 teams splitting into eight groups will take part in the first phase of the Boys’ Group while a number of 17 schools dividing into eight groups will participate in the first phase of the Girls’ Group.
Saint Gregory’s High School is in Group A, Play-Pen, Methodist English Medium School are in Group B, Sunny Dale, Dhanmondi Government Boys High School are in Group C, Dhaka Residential Model High School & College, Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School are in Group D, BISC, South Point School & College are in Group E, BAF Shaheen School & College, Green Herald International School are in Group F, Scholastica, Dhanmondi Tutorial are in Group G, Wari High School, Shaheed Nabi High School are in Group H.
Sunny Dale, Methodist English Medium School are in Group A, Scholastica, Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School are in Group B, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College, Chittagong Grammar School are in Group C, Dhanmondi Tutorial, South Breeze School are in Group D, BISC, Green Herald International School are in Group E, Shaheed Anwar Girls’ College, South Point School & College are in Group F, Bangla Bazar Government Girls High School, Agrani School & College are in Group G, Shaheed Nabi High School, Siddeshwari Girls’ High School, Motijheel Colony High School are in Group H.
To mark the upcoming handball competition, a press conference was held at the office room of Bangladesh Handball Federation on Monday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Marketing Manager of Polar Ice cream Abdullah Al Mamun, Chairman of the Tournament Committee (Boys’ Group) Golam Habib, Chairman of the Tournament Committee (Girls’ Group) Hamida Begum, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Selim Mia were present at the conference.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 8,14, 200 while Polar Ice cream, the sponsor of the handball competition has given Tk 6,50,000 to Bangladesh Handball Federation and the Federation will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the six-day long handball competition as the chief guest while Director of Polar Ice cream KM Touhiduzzaman will be with him as the special guest.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
The finals (Boys’ & Girls’) will be held on September 9.
