Online News Desk: Member of parliament (MP) from Tangail-8 constituency and Awami League leader Shawkat Momen Shajahan died of heart attack in the early hours of Monday. He was 66. Shawkat Momen was admitted to Sakhipur Upazila Health Complex in Tangail as he was felling sick at around 5.45am, but the duty doctors declared him dead around 6am. Shawkat Momen was elected uncontested from this constituency in the latest 10th parliamentary elections held on January 5. Earlier, he was elected from Tangail-8 in 1986, the by-polls of 1999 and 2008. Family sources said the body would be taken to Dhaka for Namaj-e-Janaza on the Jatiya Sangsad premises and would be laid to rest beside his father at Women`s Residential College in Tangail.
