BSEHR
Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) has been working for the promotion and protection of human rights mainly for the poor, disadvantage and vulnerable people, especially the women and children, since its inception in 1977 through education, awareness raising programmes, legal support service, and research and policy advocacy. Recently in an in house meeting, the programme development unit of BSEHR has decided to launch a month long awareness campaign throughout the country to stop child marriage. The campaign will be started from 4 October 2019 and will be continued till 4 November 2019. The aim of this campaign will be create a mass awareness among the people on the drawbacks of child marriage and the contemporary law on it. The events under this country wide campaign will be mainly discussion meeting, yard meeting, community campaign, school meeting, street drama, meeting with the Union Parishad and cultural programmes. Through its 358 active branches all over the country and the partner organizations, BSEHR will arrange this massive anti-child marriage campaign in Bangladesh, even at union level, the Executive Director of BSEHR Mr. Mostafa Sohel said in his statement, says a press release.

BdREN

An effective academic network is absent in the field of medical education and research of the country. Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) will play an effective role for enhancement of knowledge and skills of the professionals concerned with medical education and research. Through BdREN, teachers and other professionals of medical colleges and universities will exchange their knowledge and skills in virtual system. Telemedicine, online course, training, meeting, seminar etc. will contribute to the development of the country’s medical and research sectors through BdREN, said UGC Chairman Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah. He made the observation while speaking as the Chief Guest at a view exchange meeting between the representatives of different government medical colleges and research organisations at UGC Bhaban yesterday . Prof Dr Md Akhtar Hossain, Member, UGC and Vice-Chairperson, BdREN Trust presided over the ceremony. Md. Tawrit, Chief Executive Officer of BdREN delivered the address of welcome. Representatives from six medical colleges and six research organizations of the country were present. The meeting was organised for projecting the concept in detail about the apps and services of BdREN. BdREN has so far provided high-speed internet connectivity to 64 higher educational institutions, research organizations and medical colleges of the country. Prof Kazi Shahidullah, also Chairperson of BdREN Trust said that a remarkable development has taken place in medical education of the country. Prof Akhtar Hossain, in his presidential speech said that country’s medical colleges and research organizations could contribute to enhancement of knowledge and skills of the professionals concerned with medical education and research by using the virtual technology and digital library facilities provided by BdREN.
