3 more die of dengue 615 hospitalized

Though number of Dengue patients decreased last week but three more persons including two minor children, died of mosquito-borne tropical viral disease, in three separate hospitals in the country on Tuesday.
In Dhaka, a nine-year-old child named Sonia died at Dhaka Shishu (Children’s) Hospital while another teenager girl named Tarin, 11, died at Dhaka Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday afternoon.
The third one died in Bheramara upazila of Khustia district, but the identity couldn’t be known instantly.
According to DGHS sources, a total of 615 dengue patients have been admitted to different hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours of them, 198 patients in Dhaka city and 417 in others districts.
The Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release issued on Tuesday, said the number of patients currently undergoing treatment in both government and private hospitals in the country around 2,485.
A total of 68 dengue patients died across Bangladesh from January 1 till September 17, according to their own data. However, the unofficial death toll is reported to be over 156, so far.
As many as 993 patients are currently receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka, contrarily 1,492 people are undergoing treatment in districts, the DGHS data said.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin said, 46 dengue patients were admitted to DMCH and 47 patients have been released in last 24 hours.
Since January 1 till September 17, a total of 82,454 patients were affected by dengue.
Among those admitted, a total of 79,766 have been released from hospitals and clinics after treatment.
