Transport strike withdrawn

The indefinite transport strike that began on Sunday in nine districts has been withdrawn .
The movement was withdrawn at around 8pm on Sunday, said the convener of the Chittagong Divisional Mass and Goods Transport Owners’ Unity Council, Manjurul Alam Chowdhury.
He told that, “Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin talk with this . He assured that he would talk to the minister within the next 5 days to fulfill our demands. With his assurance, we have withdrawn the strike. ‘
Earlier on Sunday (September 7), a strike was started in four districts of Chittagong Divisional Mass and Goods Transport Owners Unity Council.
Mass and commodity transport owner Unity Parishad sources said , they demanded a six-point waiver for updating mass and commodity transport papers, harassing them in the name of scrutiny of papers until a decision on fines waiver, by the BRTA and District Magistrate’s Rights. To impose no additional penalty on mass and commodity transport, seize cars by highway and police stations and Stop quizzing, Fitness and permit renewal by excluding vehicle economic life in Chittagong Metro area, excluding mass and commodity transport by car or traffic dumping by driver of the car, excluding motorized carriage. Work of BRTA in issuing driver’s license in easy terms and updating of documents ROM to stop suffering.
