BFF-UNICEF Women’s Football Championship begins tomorrow

The final round of the BFF-UNICEF U-16 National Women’s Football Championship (talent hunt) begins tomorrow (Saturday) at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur with two matches are billed for the opening day.
Mymensingh district will take on Rangamati district in the group A match at 2 pm while Lalmonirhat district meet Gopalganj district in the day’s another opening day’s fixture at 4 pm.
Eight district teams – six venue champions and two runners-up teams – split into two groups, will take part in the final round.
The semifinals will be held on July 26 while the final of the championship is slated on July 27. In this regards, a press conference was held on Thursday at conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House- to provide all the details of the meet.
AFC executive member and BFF women’s wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron, UNICEF Communication officer advocacy and partnership section Iftikhar Ahmed Chowdhury and BFF general secretary Md Abu Nayeem Shohag were present at the press conference.
The participating district teams:
Group A – Mymensingh, Lalmonirhat, Gopalganj and Rangamati district teams.
Group B – Magura, Rajshahi, Khagrachori and Narayanganj district teams.
