Drug peddler held with pistol, bullets in Khagrachhari
UNB, Khagrachhari :
Police in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with a foreign-made pistol and six rounds of bullets from Nancy-Bazar in the district town on Saturday noon.
The arrestee was identified as Faruk Mia alias Tabij Faruk.
Based on secret information, regarding an invoice of 1,000 pieces of yaba smuggling, a police team conducted a drive in the area and arrested Faruk Mia with the pistol and bullets, said Shahadat Hossain Titon, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Faruk was involved in drug peddling for long. There are several cases against him with different police stations, it was learnt.
A firearms case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection, the OC added.
